Many accommodations in downtown Vung Tau still have vacant rooms even though the April 30 - May 1 holiday has begun.

Talking to Zing , Mr. Pham Khac To, Director of the Center for Management and Support of Tourists in Vung Tau City, said that this year the holiday lasts 5 days, so the number of visitors to the coastal city will gradually increase and not be overloaded from the beginning.

By the second day of the holiday, the room fund in Vung Tau is still enough to serve tourists in the coming days, the director said. Sharing the same view, Mr. Dau The Anh, Vice President of the Tourism Association of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, also predicted before the start of the holiday that room capacity could increase.

According to the reporter's records in the early afternoon of April 30, La Van Cau area (Thang Tam ward, Vung Tau city) still had many accommodation establishments hanging signs saying there were rooms available.

A representative of a hotel in this neighborhood said that today, more guests are starting to flock to the city. However, the hotel's room fund is still quite empty.

"Before the holiday, accommodation establishments had to register to list room rates. We also did not charge too much to attract customers because when the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet highway came into operation, many tourists would change their mind and go to Phan Thiet," this person said.

Previously, Mr. Dau The Anh also made similar comments. According to him, the number of visitors from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Thuan will share some of the pressure of tourists with the coastal city.

In the high-end segment, booking rooms close to the holiday is quite easy. The reservation department of hotels near the beach such as ibis Style, Fusion Suites, Vias... said they still have rooms available for April 30 and May 1 with prices ranging from 3.3-3.9 million VND/night.

Searching on intermediary booking sites, tourists can get hundreds of results about accommodation addresses in Vung Tau for this holiday. Depending on location, space, service, rooms have diverse prices, ranging from a few hundred thousand to millions of VND.

According to the report of Vung Tau City Tourist Management and Support Center, as of 1pm on April 30, the city has welcomed about 74,000 visitors. This number is expected to continue to increase late this afternoon and the following days.
