Since establishing relations in 1989, cooperation between Vietnam and WEF has become increasingly substantive, focusing on important areas such as macro-policy advice, plastic waste reduction, sustainable agriculture, human resource training and digital transformation, etc. Vietnam and WEF always attach importance to the partnership between the two sides. In particular, Vietnam highly appreciates the role of WEF in the world and in Vietnam, and is ready to promote cooperation between the two sides. Meanwhile, WEF always appreciates the role and contribution of Vietnam in promoting multilateral cooperation and joining the international community to solve global challenges. With the achievements, business and investment environment as well as the current socio-economic development strategy, Vietnam will continue to be a destination highly appreciated by global business leaders and international organizations in business development and international cooperation.
Assessing Vietnam's efforts in WEF initiatives and activities, Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Gass emphasized that Vietnam's role is increasingly important, not only in the region but also beyond the region.
As an active member of ASEAN, Vietnam has played an important role in promoting regional stability and cooperation. Vietnam has also participated in peacekeeping operations around the world, including in South Sudan and the Central African Republic. Vietnam has also taken important steps to reduce its carbon footprint, with a commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Vietnam is working to increase its resilience to climate change, through the implementation of its National Climate Change Adaptation Plan and measures to protect vulnerable communities. In addition, Vietnam is working to improve energy security by investing in renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power.
Therefore, WEF 54 will provide Vietnam with a great opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to concrete solutions and gain the support of the investor community for its efforts.
