The Brazilian women's team had to bitterly stop and sadly watch Jamaica make history with a ticket to the 1/8 round of the 2023 World Cup, while France proudly continued with the top spot in the group.

After the defeat against France, the Brazilian women's team continued to disappoint when they only managed a 0-0 draw against Jamaica in the "life-or-death" match of Group F of the 2023 Women's World Cup at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.
This draw made Brazil regretfully stop playing early and bitterly watch Zamaica players advance straight to the round of 16.
After 3 matches, Coach Pia Sundhage's team only got 4 points, ranking third after France (7 points) and Jamaica (5 points).
This is also the third time in history that the Brazilian Women's Team has had to say goodbye to the Women's World Cup from the group stage, after two consecutive years in 1991 and 1995.
Meanwhile, Jamaica made history by advancing to the group stage of the Women's World Cup for the first time after two appearances at the tournament.
This result is really a big surprise when Jamaica was not rated with being in a group with two strong teams, France and Brazil.
Even 4 years ago in France, Jamaica could only make their mark on the farewell day with a goal against Australia. At the 2019 World Cup, they lost all three matches - scoring 1 goal and conceding 12 times.
Notably, at the World Cup 4 years ago, Jamaica lost to Brazil in its debut match at this prestigious playground.
In contrast to the dull match at Melbourne Rectangular, the match between the French Women's Team and the new team Panama at Sydney Football Stadium was exciting and ended with a "rain of goals."
Panama's women's team had an impressive farewell to the 2023 Women's World Cup with a 3-6 defeat to the French women's team.
Players Marta Cox, Yomira Pinzon and Lineth Cedeno took turns making their mark in the farewell match to help the Panama Women's Team score 3 goals in their first appearance at the Women's World Cup.
On the other side of the front line, the French women's team had a brilliant day with 6 goals. Striker Kadidiatou Diani shined with a hat-trick, while the remaining three goals were shared equally between Maelle Lakrar, Lea Le Garrec and Vicki Becho.
With this resounding victory, the French women's team has 7 points after three matches, advancing straight to the round of 16 of the Women's World Cup as the top of Group F.
In the knockout round, coach Herve Renard's team will face the second team in Group H - most likely the German team.
Meanwhile, the Jamaican women's team will face the group H winners, and if there are no surprises, their opponents will be Colombia.
Previously, the final round of Group G also ended with a big surprise when the Italian Women's Team lost and had to stop playing early.
Although the Italian team was rated much higher, they had to accept a 2-3 defeat against South Africa, bitterly watching their opponent pass the group stage for the first time.
In the remaining match in this group, the Swedish Women's Team defeated the Danish Women's Team 2-0 to get 9 absolute points and advance straight to the knockout round as the top of Group G.
Sweden, along with Japan and England, are the only teams to have a perfect record in the group stage of this year's tournament. Colombia will also achieve that feat if they beat Morocco tomorrow (3-8).
In the round of 16, the Swedish women's team will face the defending champions the United States (second in Group E), while South Africa will face the defending runners-up the Netherlands (first in Group E).
Previously, the 2023 Women's World Cup Round of 16 also determined the other 8 participating teams: Switzerland, Norway (Group A), Australia, Nigeria (Group B), Japan, Spain (Group C), England and Denmark (Group D).
According to the quick draw, in the next round Switzerland will meet Spain, while Japan will face Norway - a match between two former champions of the tournament.
Group D winners England will face Group B runners-up Nigeria, while Denmark will face co-hosts Australia.
