Hoa Phu commune was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Hoa Phu, Hoa Xuan, Hoa Khanh communes (old Buon Ma Thuot city), with a natural area of 109.07 km², a population of 48,822 people with 37 villages, 6 hamlets, and 12 ethnic groups living together.
