Nam Ninh Hoa Commune: Many areas are deeply flooded, urgently evacuate people

After prolonged heavy rains, many areas of Nam Ninh Hoa commune are seriously flooded, especially in low-lying areas near rivers and streams. Local authorities are urgently mobilizing forces to respond and evacuate people to ensure safety.

According to Mr. Nguyen Binh Loi - Chairman of Nam Ninh Hoa Commune People's Committee, on the evening of November 18 and the morning of November 19, floodwaters from upstream flooded most of the villages in the commune. In Tan Hung village, Nha Chay bridge experienced flash floods, posing a danger to vehicles and people participating in traffic. Places such as Trung village, Phong Thanh village, Phu Huu, Phung Cang, Phuoc My... were deeply flooded, with water levels reaching almost to the roofs in some places, affecting the lives and activities of the people.

Local authorities mobilized vehicles to take people from flooded areas to safety.

According to preliminary statistics, more than 20 hectares of rice and 5 hectares of crops are currently flooded. The Commune People's Committee has deployed police and militia forces to be on duty 24/7 at key points; posted signs, guiding people to travel safely; mobilized people in deeply flooded areas to support each other to evacuate; used on-site vehicles such as: farm trucks, boats, and canoes to take people to safe areas.

Up to now, the locality has evacuated 14 households in the deeply flooded area to safe places. Currently, the flood water is rising, the evacuation of people in vulnerable areas is being actively implemented to ensure people's safety.
