Phong Hai Commune: Promoting the spirit of 4 on-the-spot work with people overnight to overcome landslides

On the night of October 8, on Provincial Road 157, passing through Khoi Khe village (Phong Hai commune), a large landslide occurred, causing traffic congestion. Upon receiving information from the grassroots, the Party Committee and the commune government mobilized 4 local forces and people to work overnight to fix the problem and ensure temporary travel for the people.

Mr. Ban Van Chi - Secretary of Khoi Khe village Party Cell said that at around 9:00 p.m. on October 8, he was one of the first people to arrive at the scene of the landslide after receiving the news on Zalo group. After getting to know the situation with the village chief, he reported to the Party Committee and the government to ask for a solution.

That same night, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vu Trung Dung commune directly went to the scene to mobilize 4 local forces and people to overcome the landslide.

Identifying Provincial Road 157 as an important traffic route, especially when the landslide at Km9 of National Highway 70 is still being repaired, the government and people have urgently deployed to clear the route.

Although it was not possible to mobilize an excavator at night, the force of 30 people used hoes, shovels, wheelbarrows... to clear about 300 cubic meters ^of earth and rock, cut and transport fallen trees, and clear the route that same night.

By 11:35 p.m. on October 8, the landslide had been basically fixed and vehicles could temporarily circulate. The timely actions and solidarity of the Party Committee, government and people of Phong Hai commune clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the two-level local government operation, close to the people, and for the people.

After the information spread on social networks, many people praised the sense of responsibility of the local forces, not afraid of hardship, on duty 24/7 to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, ensuring smooth traffic.

Currently, on Provincial Road 157 and branch roads in the commune, there are still many landslides and landslide risks. Phong Hai commune is continuing to collect statistics, warn and deploy a remedial plan as soon as possible.
