On October 18, information spread on social media that the child of an official of Ha Lam ward, Quang Ninh province had his grades changed from poor to excellent by a leader of the Board of Directors of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School.

Scores are revised in subjects such as Mathematics, Natural Sciences , Computer Science and English.

Regarding the above issue, on the same day, speaking with VietNamNet reporter , the representative of Ha Lam ward People's Committee said that they had received the parents' complaint and were checking and handling it.

According to the above leader, the complaint is about the score correction in the 2024-2025 school year at Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School. This school has merged and reorganized the board of directors. The accused person is currently holding the position of vice principal of the school.

Previously, when the old Ha Long City government still existed, the ward also received this complaint. After the administrative unit was reorganized and the two-level government was implemented, the unit continued to receive complaints about the incident.

"If there is an incident, it is the fault of the adults. The students whose children are accused of altering their grades are now mentally depressed and do not dare to go to school or go out to meet people. The ward has verified and is in the process of considering and handling individuals if there are violations," said the leader of the People's Committee of Ha Lam ward.

Regarding the above issue, the representative of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province said that they have received the information and have asked the specialized departments to verify. If there is a problem, they will propose to coordinate with the People's Committee of Ha Lam ward to consider and handle it.

According to this person, currently the management of secondary schools has been decentralized to wards and communes, so after inspection, the locality will be required to provide written information.

"Currently, we are using electronic report cards and grading on them. If there is any grade correction, it will be shown on the software. If it is true as the petition reflects, the direct responsibility belongs to the person who carried it out," said a representative of the Quang Ninh Department of Education and Training.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha requested the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect and clarify information about unsafe food in the school lunch at Cu Khe Primary School.
