The public space named after the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is located near the Antel Arena Convention Center, the most modern convention center in Uruguay.

The government of the capital city of Montevideo, Uruguay, has passed a resolution to name the space Vietnam on Jose Pedro Valera Avenue, on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the April 30 Victory, the Liberation of the South, and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024) and the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024).
The newly adopted resolution emphasizes that in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Uruguay and Vietnam after the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations (2023), the Montevideo government has unanimously approved the plan to establish a public space named after the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The Montevideo capital government said the space named Vietnam also commemorates the great President Ho Chi Minh, leader of the Vietnamese people, who on his journey to find a way to save the country arrived in Uruguay in 1912.
Vietnam Space is located near the Antel Arena Convention Center, the most modern convention center in Uruguay.
It is expected that the Montevideo and Ho Chi Minh City authorities will coordinate to implement the construction of the Vietnam Space. The two localities signed a letter of intent on cooperation in April 2023 to promote tourism development and people-to-people exchange.
The capital Montevideo is the largest city, the economic, technological, administrative and cultural center of Uruguay and is known as the city with the best quality of life in Latin America./.
