Disciplinary review of principal accused of "molestation and harassment" by teacher

(Dan Tri) - The Inspection Committee of An Phu District Party Committee determined that the Principal of A Quoc Thai Primary School had committed violations to the extent that disciplinary action must be considered.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Phu District ( An Giang Province) Le Thanh Phuong has just signed a document responding to the petition of Ms. LTP, a teacher at A Quoc Thai Primary School (An Phu District, An Giang Province), accusing Mr. D., Principal of A Quoc Thai Primary School of molesting and sending harassing messages from July 2023 to April 2024. At that time, Ms. P. was having a rift and was divorcing her husband.

According to the complaint, on November 11, 2023, when Ms. P. entered the school to clean the classroom, Mr. D. invited her to his office for breakfast. There, Mr. D. sexually harassed and touched Ms. P.'s "sensitive" area. When Ms. P. reacted, she was threatened.

Speaking to reporters, Ms. P. said: "Mr. D. called me into the breakfast room to eat with him. I thought he was a leader, so I went in to eat with him. While eating, Mr. D. expressed his feelings, then hugged and touched my sensitive area. Panicked, I pushed him away and ran out of the school, to a colleague's house to ask for help."

In addition to the harassment, Ms. P. also reported many other violations by the principal regarding administrative work, management, and teaching at the school.

Immediately after receiving the petition, An Phu District Party Committee held a meeting with the Inspection Committee, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Department of Education and Training and related units to establish an inspection team to verify the incident.

Verification results show that Mr. D. has limitations, shortcomings, and violations to the extent that disciplinary action must be considered.

The District Party Committee's Inspection Committee has asked Mr. D. to write a self-criticism with the limitations, shortcomings, and violations according to the conclusion. At the same time, the unit will consider issuing a Party decision on the VTD principal.
