Specifically, the 9th grade excellent student exam in Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi took place on October 29 with the participation of 698 students from 18 schools. Students took the exam in 9 subjects: Literature, Mathematics, History, Geography, Physics, CivicEducation , Natural Sciences, Information Technology, Foreign Languages (English, French, Japanese). Of which, 78 students took the exam in Mathematics.
However, after the students finished the exam, some people were surprised to see that the exam questions for selecting excellent 9th grade students in Hai Ba Trung district were identical to the review questions of Dong Da district as well as Trung Vuong Secondary School, Hoan Kiem district. People raised the question of whether the exam questions of Hai Ba Trung district were leaked before the exam was held? Are there any loopholes in the exam question-making process of the district and how will the results be recognized if the questions are leaked?

Regarding the above issue, a representative of the Hai Ba Trung District Department of Education and Training affirmed: "The Hai Ba Trung District Department of Education and Training has summoned responsible members to inspect and verify. The results show that the process of implementing the stages in building the district's excellent student exam questions for cultural subjects for grade 9 in the 2024-2025 school year in general and Math in particular was carried out correctly; there was no leaking of exam questions; no individual or department was found to leak information about the exam questions to the outside."
Regarding the information that the official gifted student exam questions are similar to the review questions of Trung Vuong Secondary School, a representative of the Department of Education and Training affirmed: "We have discussed and were informed by this school that there are no review questions similar to the official Math questions of Hai Ba Trung District. We will continue to review and if we find any mistakes, we will handle them, absolutely no cover-up."
In response to parents' and students' concerns about the exam question-making process, a representative of the Hai Ba Trung District Department of Education and Training said: "The Department has invited experts with experience in training and exam questions for gifted students from educational institutions outside the district to participate in supporting the exam questions by subject, according to the exam matrix and the program limits that the department has built. The Department also invited experts and key teachers to coordinate and review the exam requirements to ensure accuracy.
After completing the compilation stage, all exam papers are sealed and sent to the head of the exam committee, then handed over to the printing and copying committee and the exam invigilator committee to carry out the exam organization; These stages are carried out seriously by the department, following the correct procedures and keeping them confidential according to regulations. The members of the committees commit to take responsibility for the accuracy and confidentiality of the exam.
In Hai Ba Trung district, the teachers invited to create math questions are teachers from other districts and do not directly teach review in the district. In addition to creating questions, the teachers also support the Department of Education and Training in developing review programs when forming the district team to compete at the city level. This is a method that the Department of Education and Training has implemented for many years.
