1. The Artists and Soulmates program, organized by Long An Radio and Television Station (now Long An Radio and Television Station ) in collaboration with Long An Cai Luong Art Troupe (NTCL), has attracted a large audience for many years. The program is elaborately staged, with music, traditional singing, comedy and Cai Luong excerpts, meeting the enjoyment needs of all ages. Launched to the audience in 2007, to date, Artists and Soulmates has organized 174 episodes, demonstrating the appeal of combining live and online Cai Luong.
Head of the Radio and Entertainment Department (Long An Radio and Television Newspaper) - Nguyen Minh Hieu said: “Over the years, the NS and Tri am programs have been an attractive spiritual food for those who love reformed opera. Through each production period, we always receive opinions from the audience and listeners to innovate the program script. The theme of each period is changed according to the flow of events, such as the upcoming Dat Nuoc Tron Niem Vui, which will take place on the occasion of April 30 at Tan Tru district park. In addition to traditional singing performances and reformed opera excerpts, there are also musical performances to help enrich and diversify the program.”

2. Not only changing the way of approaching the audience, the Long An Opera Troupe also focuses on investing in quality plays, exploiting new perspectives. Some Cai Luong plays recreate the heroic history of Long An through different periods such as Ben Dong Long Khot (Excellent performance at the 2021 National Cai Luong Festival in Long An). And most recently, the play Nguoi con cua rung tram (Gold Medal at the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival in Can Tho City) left an impression on the audience with a new script, emotional content and combined with impressive art forms such as shadow puppetry.
Long An NTCL Troupe continues to "wear new clothes" with a force of young Cai Luong artists such as Tran Minh, Vo Hoang Du, Le Hoang Nghi, Thu My, Phuong Nhi, Ngoc Hoang Oanh, Trong Tanh, Phu Yen,... Currently, in addition to practicing singing, the young artists also improve their performance skills, learn and study many types of personalities to express more diverse roles, so as not to be confined to a fixed role type.
Every year, the Long An Opera Troupe maintains free performances for people in remote, isolated, and border areas, supported by local authorities and people. In addition, the Troupe also establishes artistic exchanges with art units in neighboring provinces and cities such as Tay Ninh, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Binh Thuan, Vietnam Opera Theatre, Tran Huu Trang Opera Theatre, etc., creating conditions for audiences to enjoy unique art programs.
Deputy Head of the Long An NTCL Group - Bien Huu Hung Dung informed: “In 2025, the Group will focus on practicing works to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and welcome the Party Congresses at all levels. In addition, the Group will also contact partners to perform revenue, strive to fulfill assigned targets; at the same time, improve the lives of actors, civil servants and workers in the unit. In addition, the Group will exchange and discuss with art units of other provinces and cities to bring the audience rich and attractive art programs".
Along with the Long An People's Circus Troupe, during the renovation period, the Long An People's Circus Troupe has also achieved certain results. After merging into the Provincial Cultural and Artistic Center, from 2018 to present, the Long An People's Circus Troupe has maintained its training intensity to serve political tasks and the entertainment needs of the people in the province.
In the period of 2019-2024, the Group coordinated with provinces and businesses to tour in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Da Nang city, Gia Lai Service Joint Stock Company, Sun World Phu Quoc, Happy Land Tourist Area (Ben Luc district) with 619 performances, with 361,400 viewers. During the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025, the Group served people to celebrate the New Year from January 29 to February 9, 2025, attracting about 6,000 viewers and performing at meetings to celebrate the Party - celebrate the Spring of At Ty in 2025.
Circus artists overcome difficulties, perform enthusiastically, and maintain the achievements that the Troupe has built over the years.
Head of Long An People's Circus - Nguyen Van Thoa said: "After the Covid-19 pandemic, the troupe's touring activities decreased, there were no longer long tours like before. However, thanks to the efforts and perseverance of the cast, innovating each performance from investing in costumes to props, the troupe continued to perform to serve people in remote areas."
The "New Strategy on the Development of Vietnam's Cultural Industries for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045" continues to be drafted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, showing the great potential of the Cultural Industry in the present era. Performing arts is one of the 12 areas of the cultural industry that is oriented for development. Therefore, in the coming time, Long An People's Circus and Long An Performing Arts Troupe need more attention from all levels and sectors in the synchronous development of young actors and facilities. |
In addition to serving the people, the Circus Troupe also staged 3 performances to participate in the 2021 National Circus Talent Competition organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hanoi. Of which, the performance "Head-to-head on the swing" by actors Dinh Dai Dung and Nguyen Thi Hau won second prize; the performance "Juggling flower pots" by actors Le Van Hoai Han - Truong Thien Huong won third prize.
Through many ups and downs, circus and reformed opera of Long An still shine on the stage. These two art forms are constantly renewed to suit the development trend.
