Also attending the conference were representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors, leaders of the Trade Association; domestic and foreign business associations and 70 typical enterprises, representing more than 2,600 enterprises carrying out customs procedures at the Regional Customs Office XVII.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Head of the Regional Customs Department XVII - Le Nam Quoc affirmed that over the years, the business community in the area has continuously made important contributions to the economic growth of the province, the state budget revenue and the country's import and export turnover. Accompanying that development, the Regional Customs Department XVII always strives to reform administrative procedures, modernize customs management, and aim to build a professional - transparent - effective customs force.

70 typical enterprises, representing more than 2,600 enterprises carrying out customs procedures at the Regional Customs Branch XVII attended the conference.

In 2024, the import-export turnover of goods will reach 20.2 billion USD, an increase of 24% compared to 2023 and an increase of 166% compared to 2015. State budget revenue will reach 4,782 billion VND, an increase of 21% compared to 2023 and an increase of 132% compared to 2015.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Regional Customs Authority of Region XVII carried out 303,244 customs declarations, an increase of 16% compared to 2024; import-export turnover reached 10.4 billion USD, an increase of 8%, state budget revenue reached 2,273 billion VND, an increase of 8%, equivalent to 50% of the estimate assigned by the Prime Minister in 2025.

Within the framework of the conference, delegates were also introduced to the Customs Law and related documents including: Law on Value Added Tax No. 48/2024/QH15, dated November 26, 2024 of the National Assembly , effective from July 1, 2025; contents to note regarding the origin of goods.

Business representatives participated in giving comments

At the conference, representatives of enterprises presented difficulties and problems in the process of implementing customs procedures. Leaders of the Regional Customs Office XVII acknowledged the opinions, proposals and recommendations of enterprises, and at the same time, affirmed that they will coordinate with local authorities to promptly and effectively consider and resolve opinions that are not under the authority of the customs agency. Thereby, contributing to improving professional quality, improving management work and serving enterprises better and better.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son highly appreciated the proactive spirit of the Regional Customs Office XVII in organizing the Customs - Business Dialogue Conference in 2025. This is a practical activity, demonstrating the spirit of accompanying businesses, contributing to removing difficulties, promoting production, import and export and improving the investment and business environment in the locality.

He also praised the results that the Regional Headquarters XVII had achieved in the first 6 months of the year, and at the same time, acknowledged and thanked the enthusiasm and important role of the business community, not only creating economic value for society but also pioneering in innovation, creating jobs and spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship. With the viewpoint, "Long An Government and businesses are like two companions, developing together", the province will always create the most favorable conditions for businesses and investors to develop long-term and effectively.

In addition, Mr. Huynh Van Son suggested that in the coming time, the Regional Headquarters XVII should focus on key tasks: Proactively coordinate, propagate, and support investment incentive policies to attract more investors to Long An; pay special attention to the production and business situation of enterprises affected by the new US tariff policy; accompany and support enterprises in the process of import and export procedures, recommend reforming administrative procedures to facilitate enterprises;... Provincial departments and branches must focus on reviewing, absorbing comments and reporting the results of handling, responding to all recorded recommendations, in cases beyond their authority, they must immediately report to the Provincial People's Committee, not allowing them to linger.

On this occasion, 12 outstanding enterprises received certificates of merit from the Head of the Regional Customs Department XVII for their good achievements in complying with customs laws and paying high taxes to the State budget in 2024./.
