Da Nang A hotel was fined 20 million VND for accepting a deposit for a room but handing over another room and not cleaning it.
On May 17, the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son district administratively fined Sea Sand Hotel 1 (An Thuong 3 Street, My An Ward) for "not ensuring the legitimate rights and interests according to the contract signed with tourists ", according to Decree 45 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the tourism sector.
This hotel made a receipt and made an agreement with tourist Tran Thi Thuy Dung (residing in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), who stayed in room 601 from May 1 to May 13, but did not hand over the correct room.
Ms. Dung said she stayed at the hotel from April 5 to April 22 and before leaving, she booked a room from May 1 to May 13 and paid in full. On the day of check-in, she was informed that room 601 was taken and asked to choose another room.
She was shown two rooms, but both were dirty. She then agreed to stay in a room provided by the hotel and repeatedly requested cleaning, but was not satisfied.
After the female tourist complained on social media, the authorities of Ngu Hanh Son district worked with the hotel owner. In addition to the above behavior, this hotel also violated regulations on minimum conditions for technical facilities and tourist accommodation services, because it did not change mattress covers or blankets and pillow covers when new guests arrived.
Ngu Hanh Son District People's Committee also requested the hotel owner to contact tourist Dung to apologize.
