Xuan Son broke his tibia, celebrated the championship from the hospital

(Dan Tri) - X-ray results at a hospital in Bangkok (Thailand) showed that striker Nguyen Xuan Son suffered a broken tibia after a hard fall in the first half of the second leg of the AFF Cup final on the evening of January 5.

The incident happened in the 32nd minute, when Nguyen Xuan Son, while trying to pass the ball to his teammate, fell quite hard on the Rajamangala field (Bangkok, Thailand). This very hard fall caused Xuan Son's lower right leg to be bent.

The player was then taken by ambulance straight to a hospital in Bangkok. X-ray results here showed that Nguyen Xuan Son had a broken tibia and a broken fibula. The player was forced to immobilize his right leg for a while. With the above injury, Xuan Son will not be able to return home with the Vietnamese team at 12:30 on January 6. He will temporarily not attend the AFF Cup 2024 championship celebration in Vietnam in the next few days.

Immediately after the second leg final match between Vietnam and Thailand ended, on the night of January 5, VFF Vice President Nguyen Xuan Vu and VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu visited Xuan Son in the hospital. The striker had previously been informed that he would receive the Golden Boot award (with 7 goals) and the best player award of the AFF Cup 2024. He was informed about the third time the Vietnamese team won the championship, to celebrate the championship of the whole team right in the hospital.
