Xuan Truong reunites with Cong Phuong at the age of 30

Midfielder Luong Xuan Truong reunited with his old teammate Nguyen Cong Phuong in the new shirt of Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club.

On the afternoon of July 14, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club announced the first contract for the new season 2025 - 2026, midfielder Luong Xuan Truong.

Xuan Truong joined Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club with a 3-year contract. Last season, this 30-year-old midfielder played 24 matches (16 as a starter) for Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club, did not score any goals and only had 1 assist for his teammates.

Xuan Truong's favorite shirt number since becoming famous in the Vietnam U19 team and Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club is number 6 and he chose to wear it at Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club.

But joining Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club, Xuan Truong has not chosen a shirt number, even though shirt number 6 is vacant after defender Nguyen Van Quy left.

Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club said this is not only a contract expected to help the team continue to realize its dream of promotion, but also an emotional reunion between Xuan Truong and his brother Cong Phuong.

Because both of them created miracles together with U19 Vietnam in the period 2013 - 2014, and now play together in the Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club.

After losing 0-2 to SHB Da Nang Club in the play-off match and missing out on a ticket to play in the 2025-2026 V-League, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club said goodbye to 13 players and 6 members of the coaching staff. Including head coach Huynh Quoc Anh after his loan contract from SHB Da Nang Club ended.

It is expected that in the coming days, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club will announce other new contracts such as Tran Minh Vuong, Le Van Son (Hoang Anh Gia Lai), Tran Quang Thinh (Nam Dinh), Nguyen Thanh Thao (HCMC)...

Especially head coach Nguyen Viet Thang - the coach who led Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club to win the 2024 - 2025 First Division Championship with a record of 20 unbeaten matches (19 wins) and won a direct ticket to V-League 2025 - 2026.
