At around 6am on July 29, a fire broke out at a lunch box manufacturing facility of hundreds of square metres located at the intersection of Tran Quang Dieu Street, Tan Dong Hiep Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. At the time of the fire, the factory was not yet in operation, and there were few workers inside.
The factory was mainly filled with foam and other materials used to make lunch boxes, so the fire spread and created toxic black smoke that spread around the residential area. People nearby took fire extinguishers from their homes and used water hoses to help put out the fire, but the fire was too big to control. The fire engulfed the entire factory, which contained many machines.

The local Fire Police and Rescue Department mobilized vehicles and officers to the scene to prevent the fire from spreading to houses, and used gas masks to approach the scene to search for trapped people.

After nearly 2 hours of firefighting, the fire was completely contained. At the scene, the lunch box manufacturing facility was burned down along with many assets inside. Many walls were cracked, the corrugated iron roof collapsed. The scene was inspected and no casualties were found. Relevant units are blocking off the scene to determine the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
