Arriving at around 9pm on January 13 at the Van Ninh-Cam Lo expressway resettlement area in An My village, Cam Tuyen commune, Cam Lo district, we saw the construction site still bustling with vehicles coming in and out; dozens of trucks lined up to carry soil to level the ground; wherever the soil was dumped, the trucks leveled and compacted it. The working atmosphere was extremely lively and urgent.
Mr. Nguyen The Nam, Director of General Construction Company No. 8 - the contractor here, said that taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, in the past few days, the entire workforce, vehicles, machines from other projects have been mobilized by the unit to work at this resettlement area. The team of technical staff and workers take turns in shifts, working through the afternoon and through the night to ensure the progress committed to the locality.
In order to serve the land clearance work for the Van Ninh-Cam Lo expressway, Cam Lo district has built 3 resettlement areas in 3 localities where the project passes through, namely Cam Tuyen, Cam Thuy and Cam Hieu, with an area of over 17 hectares. All 3 resettlement areas are located in low-lying rice fields, so the leveling work is very difficult. If the weather is not favorable, construction cannot be carried out. Due to the urgent requirements of the schedule, in addition to mobilizing all resources, means and machinery, all 3 contractors are currently having to work overtime, increase shifts, and arrange more manpower and means to organize construction at night.
“With the determination of the investor and the determination of the contractor to implement construction and complete resettlement areas soon, up to this point, the progress of land allocation in all 3 resettlement areas has reached about 80%. Cam Lo District People's Committee plans to divide and hand over land to households subject to resettlement before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin”, Vice Chairman of Cam Lo District People's Committee Tran Hoai Linh added.
