According to Mr. Vang Lao Lo, Chairman of the People's Committee of Y Ty commune, Bat Xat district, a thin layer of ice has also appeared in the low-lying area of Phin Ho village, Y Ty commune.
Faced with the cold weather and the appearance of ice and snow, the People's Committee of Y Ty commune has directed commune officials in charge of villages to propagate and mobilize people to prevent and protect people and livestock from the cold; especially not to let livestock roam freely when the temperature drops to limit damage.

According to locals in Y Ty commune, this afternoon, in areas with an altitude of 2,600m or higher, the temperature dropped to minus 3 degrees Celsius, causing snow to cover the mountains and forests.

Lao Than Mountain Peak, Y Ty Commune, has an altitude of 2,860m above sea level, in the Top 20 highest mountain peaks in Vietnam.
