Urgent request to inspect, review, protect and reinforce historical and cultural relics

In response to storm No. 3, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has just issued a telegram requesting the departments of culture, sports and tourism management to carry out many tasks, including urgently checking, reviewing, protecting and reinforcing cultural, sports and tourism works, historical-cultural relics, and areas with outdoor exhibits at risk of being affected by the storm.

Specifically, in the dispatch dated July 21, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Directors of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Tourism in the provinces and cities of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Hanoi to closely follow the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, update and monitor the situation and developments of the storm, step up inspection and review of all tourist accommodation establishments, tourist attractions, especially coastal areas, islands, areas at risk of landslides and flash floods; propagate and coordinate with competent agencies and local authorities, mobilize and relocate boats and means of tourism activities at sea, evacuate tourists in the area to safe places.

Along with the activities of checking, reviewing, protecting and reinforcing cultural, sports and tourism works, historical-cultural relics, and outdoor exhibition areas at risk of being affected by the storm, localities should develop plans to move rare documents and artifacts to safe places if necessary.

Focus on directing press agencies, radio and television stations and grassroots information to increase the update of storm forecast bulletins from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, increase the duration and frequency of broadcasting storm forecast bulletins, promptly notify people to proactively prevent and respond to storms, guide leaders on prevention, response skills, and minimize damage, especially for people in dangerous areas, directly affected by storms, and areas at risk of flash floods and landslides.

Also in the telegram, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Press Department, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information and the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information to continue directing press, media and grassroots information agencies nationwide to further promote propaganda, broadcasting and timely reporting on the storm's developments, warning people about the storm's developments and the risk of floods and landslides. In particular, focusing on information on skills, prevention, response in cases that may occur due to the influence and impact of the storm.

The Construction Investment Project Management Board proactively grasps the situation and directs contractors to develop specific response plans, deploy measures to ensure safety for construction works, and prepare available forces, means, and materials to respond to and overcome the consequences of storms and floods (if any).

Directors of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in provinces and cities, heads of agencies and units under the Ministry in the above localities shall arrange forces, materials, means, assign leaders and officers to organize 24/7 duty to monitor the storm's developments, and organize timely response when situations occur in the area.
