Zalo sets a record with 78.3 million monthly active users.

The AI features in the Zalo platform also record approximately 20 million monthly users. With a sustainable development strategy for nearly two decades, Zalo has continuously grown to become the leading messaging application in Vietnam. By the end of 2024, Zalo reached 77.8 million monthly active users (MAU) with nearly 2 billion messages sent daily. After the first six months of 2025, the platform officially reached a new milestone, achieving 78.3 million monthly active users.

Data confirms Zalo's top position as the number one messaging app, demonstrating its increasingly strong connecting role in the lives of Vietnamese users. Previously, in 2024, Zalo consistently solidified its leading position among messaging platforms in Vietnam in terms of usage rate and popularity, according to the quarterly research report "The Connected Consumer" by Decision Lab. Specifically, at the end of Q4 2024, Zalo surpassed global applications such as Facebook, Messenger, Viber, and WhatsApp, leading in usage rate in the Messaging Platform category with 80%. Zalo also topped the popularity rating with 54%, winning over all three generations of users: Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen Z.
