Nearly three weeks after its launch in the Vietnamese market, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is still facing shortages, especially the silver and space orange versions.
Meanwhile, the dark blue version is already available at many dealerships, ready for immediate delivery to customers.

According to a survey conducted by Dan Tri reporters on iPhone buying and selling forums, the price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max remains high, although there are signs of it "cooling down" compared to when it was first launched.
The silver and cosmic orange versions are attracting significant interest from domestic consumers, leading to shortages at most dealerships. This has driven up product prices in the secondary market.
Currently, the 256GB version of the Space Orange iPhone 17 Pro Max is being sold on the "black market" for 42 million VND. This price is 4 million VND higher than Apple's listed price, but has decreased by 6 million VND compared to the initial launch price. The silver version is even more expensive, reaching 43 million VND.
Mr. Nguyen Van Giau, representative of the Di Dong My system, said: "Initially, the 'space orange' version had the highest price due to limited supply. However, currently, the silver version is receiving more attention, causing the selling price to change accordingly."
The practice of "price gouging" on the black market for iPhones has been going on for years. Although many retailers have required customers to activate their warranties upon purchase to limit resale, this solution doesn't seem to have been significantly effective.

This is the first year Apple has launched iPhones early in the Vietnamese market, which has fueled a surge in demand from domestic customers. However, the supply of devices in the initial shipments was insufficient to meet market demand.
A representative from Minh Tuan Mobile shared: "Vietnam being upgraded to the early release market group (tier 1) is a positive sign. However, in the first delivery batch, the supply is still limited and can only fulfill a portion of the early orders at our system."
According to information from retailers, shipments of iPhone 17 have been continuously arriving in Vietnam since the end of September and the beginning of October. It is expected that the "shortage" of iPhone 17 Pro Max will soon end in the second half of October when subsequent shipments arrive in the market.
