Huong Pagoda Festival is one of the famous festivals in the North because of the beautiful landscape of Huong Son, attracting visitors from all over.

Every spring, people in the North eagerly celebrate the Huong Pagoda festival from the 6th day of the lunar calendar and last until the end of March, in Huong Son commune, My Duc district, Hanoi .

During the festival days, Huong Pagoda is bustling with thousands of boats of visitors. Visitors to Huong Pagoda not only participate in the journey to the Buddha's land, but also immerse themselves in the space of immense mountains and rivers with hours of sitting on a boat to admire the scenery.

Co Loa Festival

The Co Loa Festival takes place from the 6th to the 16th of the first lunar month at An Duong Vuong Temple in Co Loa Commune, Dong Anh District, Hanoi. On the morning of the 6th of Tet, the festival opens with a procession of five-element flags, an eight-tone band, and a funeral oration stand placed in a Long Dinh palanquin with a canopy and umbrella.

After the Van procession is the sacrificial ceremony that takes place past noon (12 noon). Next is the procession of the gods of the 12 hamlets. In addition, there are many different games in the festival: swing playing, rice cooking competition, Tru singing, Cheo singing...

The Co Loa Festival lasts until January 16, when a ceremony is held to thank heaven and earth, ending the festival. The Co Loa Festival is to commemorate and honor Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong, who founded the Au Lac nation and built the Co Loa citadel.

Tan Vien Son Thanh Worship Festival

The festival originates from the recognized custom of worshiping Tan Vien Son Thanh to preserve and promote the spiritual and cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese ethnic community towards the merits of Saint Tan Vien Son.

In particular, on the main festival day, January 10, there will be a ceremony to receive the Certificate of the custom of worshipping Tan Vien Son Thanh as a national intangible cultural heritage, opening the Tan Vien Son Thanh festival.

The ceremony was held at the Ha Temple historical and cultural relic, Minh Quang commune (Ba Vi district, Hanoi); incense offering was held at the Thuong Temple, Trung Temple, and Ha Temple relics.

Doi Son Tich Dien Festival

Every year, people in Doi Son commune, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province eagerly await the Doi Son Tich Dien Festival. This is a traditional festival to plow the fields and pray for a year of favorable weather and good crops.

The Doi Son Tich Dien Festival takes place from the 5th to the 7th of January. The festival has the meaning of promoting agriculture and has a history dating back to the 10th century in the homeland of King Le Dai Hanh.

After many years of being lost, the Tich Dien festival was restored in 2009 on the 7th day of the first lunar month.

Giong Temple Festival

On the 6th day of Tet every year, the Gióng Temple Festival is a unique traditional festival of Phù Đổng Commune, Gia Lâm District, which has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The festival takes place over 3 days with full traditional rituals such as: opening ceremony, procession, incense offering ceremony, bamboo flower offering to Thuong Temple, where Saint Giong is worshiped.

The main festival day is the 7th, the day of sanctification according to legend. The main rituals on the main festival day are offering bamboo flowers at the Upper Temple (worshiping Saint Giong) and beheading the enemy general.

Vieng market festival

Come to Vieng Market to see the only market of the year that opens at midnight, which has become a unique cultural feature in festivals in the North.

According to records, from the afternoon of January 7th every year, tourists from all over flock to the Vieng fair in Kim Thai commune, Vu Ban district ( Nam Dinh ). This is a market that only takes place once a year, known as the lucky shopping market.

In addition to Vieng market, tourists can also visit Phu Day festival on January 8. Phu Day is one of the temples worshiping Lady Lieu Hanh, one of the "four immortals" in Vietnam.

Yen Tu Festival

The festival begins on the 10th of January and lasts until the end of the third lunar month. Tourists flock to Yen Tu (Quang Ninh) to visit the bronze pagoda located on the top of the sacred mountain.

This year, for the first time, the Opening Ceremony was held at Truc Lam Cultural Center, part of the Yen Tu Festival Central Area project.

In addition, within the framework of Yen Tu Festival, there are also Yen Tu Cherry Blossom - Yellow Apricot Festival, Hang Son Temple and Pagoda Festival, Ba Vang Pagoda Spring Opening Festival...

Lim Festival

Lim Festival is a big festival of Bac Ninh province, the festival is held on January 13 every year, in Tien Du district.

The festival originated from the pagoda festival and singing festival, related to the singing of Truong Chi in the legend of Truong Chi - My Nuong.

During the holidays, many folk games such as martial arts, wrestling, chess, swinging, weaving, and cooking are held. The most special part is the festival singing.

In addition to the seal distribution ceremony at midnight on the 14th and the opening of the 15th of January, the festival also organizes traditional festival activities including lion dance, dragon dance, cheo singing, chau van singing, human chess competition, wrestling...

The opening ceremony is a cultural custom of humanistic nature for the king to worship Heaven, Earth, and Ancestors, to show his gratitude to the country and ancestors. It is also a "reminder signal" to end Tet and really get down to work.

Recently, more and more people come to Tran Temple to pray during the festival with the wish for a successful and prosperous new year.
