Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Khoa Diem, former member of the Politburo , former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Committee; members of the City Party Committee: Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Hoang Khanh Hung, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Chairwoman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Phan Thien Dinh, Secretary of the Thuan Hoa District Party Committee; Colonel Phan Thang, Commander of the City Military Command.

According to the organizers, the 6th Hai Trieu Press Award received 100 works eligible for the preliminary round from more than 75 authors and groups of authors from central and local news agencies and newspapers participating in a variety of genres of print, electronic, radio, television, press photos, etc. Among them, many works were carefully produced in 4-5 installments, creating diversity in topics and ways of expression, contributing to improving the quality of the works, thereby affirming that the Hai Trieu Press Award is increasingly attracting the attention of writers when writing about the ancient capital.

In general, this year’s Hai Trieu Press Awards have increased in quantity and quality. The topics are diverse, with many unique perspectives, some outstanding, high-quality works; electronic and visual newspaper works stand out, as the authors have invested carefully in researching topics, collecting information, and presenting them in multiple languages ​​and media, so the competition for electronic newspaper works is stronger.

It is worth noting that many works point out some of the existing problems and shortcomings of the locality, and offer solutions for the government to refer to and handle. Many works are positive, analyzing the strengths and new points of the city when it becomes a centrally-governed city; many works introduce the people and culture of Hue, not only the beauty of a land, but also contribute to promoting culture and tourism .

8 authors and groups of authors won second prize

Among the 74 works in the final round, the final round panel discussed, evaluated and voted to select: 3 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 12 third prizes and 16 consolation prizes to award the 6th Hai Trieu Press Award - 2025. These are the most outstanding works, with good ideological content, high discovery and combativeness, creativity in expression, especially the use of journalism technology in the digital transformation period.

Hue Today Newspaper has 10 award-winning works including 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 4 Third prizes, and 3 Encouragement prizes.

Speaking at the program, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the city's press, and expressed his gratitude for the contributions of the press team in the process of building and developing Hue city in recent times.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, on the new development path, Hue City will have many opportunities, advantages and also many difficulties and challenges. However, with solidarity, determination, and glorious tradition, we believe that press agencies, reporters, and journalists will share and join hands with the city to build Hue into a city of sustainable development, safety, peace, friendliness, happiness, and strong national cultural identity in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

After the 6th Hai Trieu Press Awards Ceremony - 2025, the Gala program "Journalists with the homeland" was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. The program was elaborately invested with special art performances, including compositions by musicians - journalists in Hue.
