Residency is considered the most competitive exam at Hanoi Medical University, because each student of Medicine, Traditional Medicine, and Dentistry can only participate once in their life, right in the year they graduate from university.

This year, the residency exam was the largest yet, with nearly 1,000 candidates taking part. This was also the first class to graduate from the Comprehensive Medical Innovation Program.

After knowing the scores, the candidates with the highest scores will be selected first in their majors, in turn until the quota is full. Candidates with lower scores will no longer have the opportunity to choose a major when the quota is full.
