Dong Nai continues to comprehensively innovate education and training, developing high-quality human resources.

(NLDO)-The network of schools, classes and educational scale at all levels in Dong Nai province has developed to meet the increasing learning needs of students.

According to the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Dong Nai province, currently, the whole province has 557 preschool educational institutions (of which 341 are public, 200 are private), 404 primary educational institutions (of which 396 are public, 8 are private), 293 secondary educational institutions (of which 290 are public, 4 are private), 114 high school educational institutions (of which 86 are public, 28 are private), 5 universities and 4 university branches, 12 colleges, 7 intermediate schools and 18 vocational and continuing education institutions.

To have an overview of the Education and Training sector of Dong Nai province in the period of 2020-2025 and the plan for the period of 2025-2030, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper had an interview with Ms. Truong Thi Kim Hue, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Education and Training of the province on this topic.

Reporter: Could you tell us what outstanding results the Department of Education and Training of Dong Nai province has achieved in the 2020-2025 term?

- Ms. Truong Thi Kim Hue, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Nai province: The 2020-2025 term is a special term, because at the end of the term, Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces were merged into the new Dong Nai province. After the merger, the scale and development space of Dong Nai province in general has been much larger than before, including the education sector.

Regarding the outstanding results of the education sector in the past term, before the merger of the provinces, the leaders of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces always paid attention, prioritized and considered education as the top national policy for rapid and sustainable development.

Therefore, during the past term, the school system, facilities, and teaching staff continued to receive investment in a modern direction. The teaching staff was constantly trained and fostered in depth, meeting the requirements of comprehensive innovation in the field of education and training according to the Central and Provincial Party Committee resolutions in the period of national innovation and increasingly deep international integration.

With a large population and large area, the need for investment in education is very large, however, up to now, Dong Nai province has done a good job in building national standard schools. The rate of national standard schools in the province by the end of the 2020-2025 term has reached 75%.

In addition, the province also pays attention to investing in the general school system in the direction of approaching international educational programs, vocational training facilities towards accreditation to meet Vietnamese and international quality standards. In particular, in the past term, the provincial leaders continued to focus on developing education in remote, isolated and border areas, thereby significantly shortening the development gap with rural and urban areas. Timely promulgation of breakthrough policies to support teachers to work with peace of mind, policies to support students in difficult circumstances so that they can study with peace of mind.

• Besides the important results achieved, what difficulties and challenges does the Department of Education and Training of Dong Nai province face, Madam?

- The quality of education and training among primary, middle and high school levels, among general education, continuing education, vocational education, and among localities in the province is not uniform.

Although the school infrastructure system has developed, it still cannot meet the requirements of local educational development due to the high mechanical population growth over a long period of time and the rapid increase in the number of students.

The professional capacity of a number of teachers and educational managers has not met the task of innovating teaching methods and educational management, especially a number of older teachers, with limited ability to apply information technology; teachers' foreign language proficiency has not met the requirements of research, updating new scientific and technological achievements of the region and the world and participating in international training courses.

The team of qualified staff, facilities and equipment serving the research, development and application of science and technology, and the support and encouragement of organizations and individuals to participate in science and technology activities are still limited.

To continue to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training, develop high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of development and international integration, what are the main directions and solutions proposed by the Department of Education and Training of Dong Nai province for the 2025-2030 term, Madam?

- The Department of Education and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to implement the following important groups of solutions:

First of all, continue to promote the effective implementation of Resolution 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthrough in education and training development; Resolution 281/NQ-CP dated September 15, 2025 of the Government on the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthrough in education and training development; Resolution 281/NQ-CP dated September 15, 2025 of the Government on the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthrough in education and training development; the education and training sector urgently advises the Provincial People's Committee to develop and promulgate the implementation of the Action Program of the education sector.

Up to now, the Department of Education and Training has completed advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on the Action Program and Plan for regular and extensive propaganda on Resolution 71-NQ/TW in the direction of diversifying forms and specifying propaganda content.

Regarding the core and specific action program, the province will continue to invest heavily in the school system, with special priority given to modernizing the preschool education system, general education, and vocational training facilities from intermediate to university levels. The province will also pay attention to developing education in remote communes and border areas.

Of which, from now until 2027, nearly 1,120 billion VND will be invested in building schools in 8 border communes in accordance with the Politburo's Conclusion on investing in building schools for border communes.

Continue to focus on training and improving the training level of teachers, thereby improving the overall quality of education and training of high-quality human resources. Regularly innovate the content, methods and forms of teaching and learning, thereby continuously improving the quality of teaching and learning. The education sector will also continue to promote the spirit of innovation and creativity of teachers, creating conditions for teachers to strongly apply information technology, digital transformation in teaching and learning and management.

Dong Nai is currently one of the leading industrial development provinces in the country, the demand for high-quality human resources is increasing. Therefore, the province will continue to pay attention to developing vocational education, ensuring synchronization in both quantity and quality, especially ensuring the supply of high-quality human resources for the Long Thanh International Airport Project and the province's high-tech industrial parks preparing to come into operation.

Promote STEM education, innovation, and entrepreneurship in schools; enhance foreign language, digital technology, and soft skills for students; closely connect the three parties "state, school, and business", with businesses deeply involved in the training, human resource ordering, and recruitment processes.

During the 2025-2030 term, the province will continue to focus on improving the quality of the vocational education system, encouraging schools to continue investing to ensure domestic and international quality accreditation standards. Encourage educational institutions to increase autonomy, create new momentum, and make strong changes in quality and efficiency in human resource training and scientific research.

Together with state resources, the province will continue to promote the socialization of education and enhance autonomy in educational and training institutions. Prioritize land allocation, investment in facilities and teaching equipment in the direction of meeting standards to ensure international integration and modernization.
