On the afternoon of November 10, Mr. PQ, director of a media and advertising company, said that 7 Facebook groups with tens of thousands of members had just been "erased" by a new scam.
Accordingly, the subject created a fake Facebook account of his, then called an administrator in that group, saying that "the main account is restricted from posting, unable to operate " and asked for additional admin rights to "temporarily manage it".
Since then, the bad guys have removed all the real admin accounts. "They have turned the group into their own property. The current problem is that the Facebook platform does not provide any mechanism for appeal, reporting or procedures to restore the original admin role. The real admin and I are completely unable to access it again. This is a new form of fraud - exploiting the trust between internal members in the same group. I hope the community and those who administer Facebook Pages/Groups need to be vigilant soon" - Mr. PQ said.

A group of Mr. PQ was taken over.
Reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper sent question about this case to Meta and is waiting for response.
Recently, many scams on Facebook have also been recorded. In early 2025, a social network user shared that he was scammed out of more than 1 billion VND when booking a room through a fanpage with a blue tick impersonating a resort in Ninh Binh .
Responding to the issue of fake fanpages still being given blue ticks, Mr. Khoi Le, Meta's Country Director in Vietnam, said that the blue tick is a symbol of confirming the account owner, has been verified, not that every blue tick is a reputable fanpage. Currently, the Vietnamese market is confused about this.
Meta has received feedback from many parties and recommends that users and businesses should take advantage of the support tools available on Facebook to handle issues related to fraud and counterfeiting. In addition, this platform has also opened a separate channel for the Vietnamese community on Facebook to receive feedback and adjust policies accordingly.
“Temporarily, users and businesses should use available tools on Facebook to handle the problems they are facing, which will be more effective,” said Mr. Khoi Le.
