Mass layoffs are not caused by AI, the surprising truth behind it

Many people fear that AI will cause an “unemployment pandemic” as large corporations continue to cut staff. However, research from Brookings and Yale shows that AI has not yet created major disruption in the labor market.
The layoffs are mainly due to restructuring after hot growth and profit pressure, not robots replacing people. AI is changing job roles, not eliminating human jobs.
Easily automated positions such as data entry and customer service are gradually being replaced by AI tools. At the same time, many new professions such as model training and AI management are developing strongly. The biggest challenge now is reskilling workers to adapt to the pace of AI development.
