Yonhap reported that the Gunsan Coast Guard (South Korea) said that a 99-ton Chinese fishing boat capsized in waters about 150 kilometers southwest of Echeong Island at 8:53 a.m. on November 10.
The Chinese Consulate General in Gwangju confirmed to the Global Times on November 10 that there were 11 people on board the fishing boat that was in distress. Rescue operations are still underway.

Of the 11 people on board, two were rescued by a passing cargo ship while nine others remain missing.
Four patrol boats and helicopters have been deployed to the scene to search for the missing crew members.

The accident came just a day after another Chinese fishing boat capsized in waters southwest of South Korea, killing two Chinese crew members and leaving three others missing. The remaining six were rescued by nearby vessels.
