Press conference on the Red River Festival - Lao Cai 2025

On the afternoon of November 10, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee held a press conference to provide information about the Red River - Lao Cai Festival 2025. Comrade Vu Thi Hien Hanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Red River - Lao Cai Festival 2025 and Comrade Nong Viet Yen - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee chaired the press conference.

The Red River - Lao Cai Festival 2025 with the theme "Where the Red River flows into Vietnam", takes place from November 18 to 24, 2025 in Lao Cai ward, Cam Duong ward and some other localities of Lao Cai province.

The opening ceremony took place at 8:00 p.m. on November 19 at Nam Cuong Square, Cam Duong Ward and was broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV) and rebroadcast on Lao Cai Newspaper and Radio and Television.

Within the framework of the Festival, visitors will be immersed in the colorful cultural space of Lao Cai ethnic groups at Dinh Le Square, from November 18 to 24, 2025. The event brings a series of unique activities such as: displaying photos and artifacts with the theme "Red River Culture - Convergence of Colors", introducing unique publications and documents with the theme "Red River Cultural Journey", along with folk cultural rituals, traditional art performances and a space to promote investment and tourism in Lao Cai province.

In addition, visitors will be immersed in a series of unique art programs, vividly recreating the cultural colors of the highlands. Specifically: 7:30 p.m. on November 20, 2025, the folk music concert "The Sounds of the Great Forest"; 7:30 p.m. on November 21, 2025, experiencing folk cultural rituals; 7:30 p.m. on November 22, 2025, the art performance "Identity in Harmony"; 7:30 p.m. on November 23, 2025, the fashion show of identity and stylization "Lung Lieng Non Cao".

From November 18 to 24, 2025, at Coc Leu market area and An Duong Vuong street (Lao Cai ward), visitors will be immersed in the cultural space of the old market - a place that vividly recreates the rhythm of life, trading scenes and typical activities of Coc Leu market in the early years of its re-establishment. The space is decorated with corners displaying ancient ethnic culture and traditional folk games, bringing a close experience, recalling old memories.

From November 19 to 24, 2025, visitors can also participate in activities at the 25th Vietnam - China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai) with a scale of 550 standard booths and about 4,000 ^m2 of exhibition area.

Within the framework of the Red River - Lao Cai Festival 2025, a series of exciting sports exchanges will be held, contributing to strengthening the spirit of solidarity, friendship and promoting the dynamic image of the borderland. Specifically: The 2025 "Red River Festival" Golf Tournament will take place on November 22, 2025 at Sapa Grand Golf Course, Bat Xat Commune, Lao Cai Province; Sports exchange between businessmen and youth of Lao Cai Province (Vietnam) - Yunnan Province (China) will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on November 23, 2025, at the Canadian International School Football Field, Cam Duong Ward; The 2025 Honghe (China) - Lao Cai (Vietnam) International Cycling Race "One Track - Two Countries" will be held from November 28 to 30, 2025, with the route passing through Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Hekou district (China).

The Lao Cai Shan Tuyet Tea Festival 2025 is one of the highlights within the framework of the Red River - Lao Cai Festival 2025, with the theme "Tea scent in the clouds", honoring the quintessence of highland tea culture and promoting the Shan Tuyet Tea brand - the pride of Lao Cai land and people. The festival program takes place with a series of rich and attractive activities: Highland products fair and Shan Tuyet Tea product display (from November 21 - 23, 2025, in Giang B village, Van Chan commune); Workshop "Developing and enhancing the value of Shan Tuyet Tea" (from 3:00 p.m. on November 21, 2025, at the hall of the People's Committee of the old Suoi Giang commune); Shan Tuyet Tea Party Night (8:00 p.m. on November 21, 2025, in Giang B village, Van Chan commune); Highland cultural culinary fair (from November 21 - 23, 2025, at the old Suoi Giang Commune People's Committee yard); Ceremony to honor the Ancestral Tea Tree (from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. on November 22, 2025, at the Ancestral Tea Tree campus, Pang Cang village, Van Chan commune).
