In the period of 2021 - 2026, the organization and implementation of the Projects include: Decision No. 3666/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 7, 2020 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism approving the Project "Periodic organization of festivals, exchanges, cultural, sports and tourism festivals in ethnic minority areas by region and nationwide for the period 2021-2030"; Decision No. 4452/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 31, 2020 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the Project "Program of cultural and artistic activities serving remote, border, island and ethnic minority areas for the period 2021-2030"; Decision No. 3404/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 22, 2021 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism approving the Project "Preserving and promoting the values of folk songs, folk dances, and folk music of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in the period 2021 - 2030" (hereinafter referred to as the Project) was thoroughly grasped, implemented uniformly, and effectively implemented by the two provinces before the merger, while supplementing and adjusting in accordance with the specific tasks after the merger, implementing the 2-level local government.

With the goal of the Project "Periodic organization of festivals, exchanges, cultural, sports and tourism festivals in ethnic minority areas by region and nationwide for the period 2021-2030" is to strengthen the great national unity bloc, preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural identity of ethnic minorities; promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam in general and ethnic cultural regions in particular; contribute to promoting tourism, socio -economic development in ethnic minority areas, Thai Nguyen province has proactively coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and localities in the Northern mountainous region to organize and participate in activities; exchange and festival activities have been expanded in scale, diversified in participating regions, mobilizing a large number of artisans, actors and athletes from the grassroots, creating an environment for exchange and learning among ethnic groups in the whole province; The implementation targets achieved 100% of the plan to organize provincial-level events, fully participated in regional and national festivals organized by the Ministry; mobilized thousands of artisans and athletes to participate annually; 70% of districts and cities organized festivals and gatherings at the grassroots level.
In 2022: Thai Nguyen province successfully hosts the 2nd National Dao Ethnic Cultural Festival in Thai Nguyen province, in 2022, co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; In 2023: Organizes the 2nd Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of Ethnic Groups in Bac Kan province; In 2024: Participates in the 11th Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of Ethnic Groups in the Northeast region in Lang Son province; participates in activities at: "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2024 at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village; participates in responding to the "Spring Colors in All Regions of the Country" Festival at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.
In addition, in the period of 2021-2025, implementing the Project "Program of cultural and artistic activities serving remote, border, island and ethnic minority areas in the period of 2021-2030", the province organized mobile performances, brought information to the grassroots, implemented exchange programs, and performed arts to serve workers, students, and armed forces, associated with propagating ethnic policies and guidelines, promoting the socialization of artistic activities, and mobilizing social resources to participate in activities. The basic targets achieved and exceeded the plan for the period of 2021-2025: 100% of remote and isolated localities were served at least 2-3 times/year; the number of performances, film screenings, and exchanges increased by an average of 10%/year; the spiritual life of people in ethnic minority areas was significantly improved; The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" is spreading strongly.

In addition, in the period of 2021-2025, the province has completed and exceeded many targets of the Project "Preserving and promoting the values of folk songs, folk dances, and folk music of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in the period of 2021 - 2030". According to the review and statistics up to September 2025, in the whole province, there are a total of 987 cultural, artistic, and sports clubs in communes and wards with establishment decisions, Board of Directors, and operating regulations with a total of 27,735 members; The total number of commune-level clubs with folk performing arts that have been recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity and included by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the list of national intangible cultural heritage is 71/243; the number at the village and hamlet level is 49/664. The locality with the most clubs is Van Xuan Ward: 65 clubs; Kha Son commune: 56 clubs.
Currently, Thai Nguyen province has 01 representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity (Then singing art - Tinh lute); 45 national intangible cultural heritages have been honored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as National Intangible Cultural Heritage, many intangible cultural heritages are rich in types: Traditional festivals such as: Duom Temple Festival, Long Tong Festival, Harvest Festival of San Chay, Dao Lo Gang; good customs, practices and beliefs such as: Cap Sac ceremony of Tay, Nung, Dao, San Diu, folk performing arts: Tham Doc dry puppetry, Bat dance, Vi singing, Luon Coi singing, Then singing of Tay, Soong Co singing of San Diu, Sli singing of Nung; Folk knowledge: Knowledge of growing and processing Tan Cuong tea, Dao people's language and writing... These are national intangible cultural heritages that have been preserved and passed down through many generations, and are typical and valuable traditional cultural assets of the province in particular and the country in general.
Thereby, the implementation of the Projects has contributed to effectively preserving traditional cultural heritage, strengthening the connection and cultural exchange between regions and ethnic groups, thereby consolidating the great national unity bloc, improving the spiritual life of people, especially in mountainous areas and ethnic minorities; Creating a rich cultural and sports space, helping ethnic people to introduce and promote their traditional cultural identities; contributing to raising awareness of Party committees and authorities at all levels about the role of ethnic culture in socio-economic development, especially in the development of community cultural tourism./.
