Gia Lai: Spillway swept away, mobile troops rescue people at night

Due to the impact of storm No. 13, heavy rains accompanied by strong currents. From the night of November 8 to the early morning of November 9, the spillway of Chu Te village (connecting the old Ia Rsai commune and Chu Rcam commune, Gia Lai province) was swept away by 17m, isolating and directly threatening the safety of 112 households with 521 people.

Upon receiving the news, that same night, the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command directed the Defense Command of Region 5 - AYun Pa to deploy an approach plan to rescue and ensure the safety of the people.

Soldiers and people quickly transported drinking water to people in isolated areas.

Officers and soldiers were present in time to assess the situation, provide drinking water, and encourage and stabilize the people's spirits. As of 7 a.m. on November 9, the water level had decreased and the forces were using specialized vehicles to bring the people to safety.

Machinery was mobilized to reinforce the washed away spillway section.

It can be seen that the more difficult the times, the stronger the bond between compatriots and the army and people. The safety of people's lives and property is above all.
