Over the years, the Party Committee and the Regiment Command have had many policies and measures to lead and direct the improvement of training quality and combat readiness. During the training process, the Regiment always adheres to the motto "Basic, practical, solid", attaching importance to synchronous, in-depth, modern training; mastering weapons and equipment, closely following the plan, combat targets, organizing the organization and equipping weapons and equipment.

The regiment closely combines military training with political education, physical training, skills training, and combat experience; strengthens night training, tactical team training in complex weather conditions, and the enemy uses high-tech weapons; regularly organizes and participates in drills, live-fire drills; sports festivals and competitions at all levels achieve high results and absolute safety.

Over the years, the training quality and combat readiness of the 274th Missile Regiment have been continuously improved. The awareness, technical and tactical level of officers and soldiers have been raised. The annual training results have 100% of the training content, programs, and time for the subjects, the number of trained troops is 98.7% or more; the training content has been checked and exceeded the target. With the achievements, the Regiment has been honored to receive the "Excellent Training Unit" Flag from the Ministry of National Defense for many consecutive years (2015-2024).

Besides the achieved results, the Regiment still has shortcomings and limitations such as: The quality of training and combat readiness is not yet solid; awareness and qualifications of officers and soldiers are not uniform; weapons and equipment have been used for many years, and are not highly synchronized; the material and spiritual life of officers and their families still faces many difficulties, most of the officers have families far from the unit... which has significantly affected the training and combat readiness of the Regiment.

Promoting the heroic tradition of the unit and striving to excellently complete assigned tasks, the Party Committee and command of Missile Regiment 274 focused on leadership and direction to strengthen education to raise awareness and responsibility for officers and soldiers about training tasks, combat readiness, and airspace management.

Agencies and units focus on thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing directives, resolutions and instructions from superiors on training and combat readiness; focusing on Resolution 1659-NQ/QUTW dated December 20, 2022 of the Central Military Commission on improving training quality for the 2021-2030 period and the following years. On that basis, educate and raise awareness among officers and soldiers about the position, significance and importance of training and combat readiness; grasp the characteristics of tasks, content, programs, targets and requirements to be achieved in training.

The Regiment actively innovates the content, programs, organizational forms and training methods. In the context of complex traditional security, along with non-traditional security challenges, where digital space, electronic warfare and cyber attacks increasingly dominate, the combat effectiveness and combat readiness of the Regiment is no longer simply maintaining the weapon system, but is expanded to the responsibility of ensuring the continuous operation of the entire command - management - data collection system in conditions of interference or impact. Therefore, the Regiment must continuously innovate the content, methods and capabilities to respond to new forms of combat.

In addition, continue to improve on-duty discipline, rapid response mechanisms and comprehensive combat scenarios, taking the ability to detect, identify, evaluate and process targets in real time as the central goal.

At the same time, the unit deployed an intensive training program, opened a combat simulation and maintenance center, built a digital document set, standardized maintenance and repair procedures, and updated diagnostic data.

60 years ago, when the resistance war against the US entered a fierce phase, on November 13, 1965, the Ministry of National Defense issued Decision No. 204/QD-QP to establish the 274th Air Defense Missile Regiment, the fourth missile regiment of the Vietnam People's Army. On February 3, 1966, in Yen The forest (Ha Bac), the Regiment's founding ceremony was solemnly held. Through the process of fighting, building and developing, the 274th Missile Regiment was honored by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. In addition, the Regiment was awarded 1 Third-class Fatherland Protection Medal, 2 Military Exploit Medals, 40 Exploit Medals; 2 collectives and 2 individuals were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, along with many other noble awards.
