Associate Professor Dr. Mai Duy Ton, born in 1976 in Thanh Hoa province, Director of the Stroke Center at Bach Mai Hospital, is one of the candidates for professorship in Medicine in 2025.
In 1994, he studied general medicine at Hanoi Medical University, graduating in 2000.

In 2001, Mr. Mai Duy Ton completed his residency in Intensive Care Medicine at Hanoi Medical University and received his residency certificate in 2005.
In 2009, he was awarded a master's degree, and in 2013, he received a doctorate in Medicine, specializing in Emergency and Critical Care, from Hanoi Medical University.
Regarding his career, from 2004 to the present, Mr. Mai Duy Ton has worked as a doctor at Bach Mai Hospital.
From 2014 to 2018, he pursued a master's degree in Stroke at the University of Danube, Austria.
From 2019 to 2020, Mr. Ton served as Deputy Head of the Emergency Department at Bach Mai Hospital. From 2020 to the present, he has been the Director of the Stroke Center at the same hospital.
In addition, from 2022 to the present, he has also been the head of the Department of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases, School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Since 2023, he has also held the position of Chairman of the Hanoi City Stroke Association.
Dr. Mai Duy Ton was appointed Associate Professor in 2016.
To date, Associate Professor Dr. Mai Duy Ton has published 178 scientific articles, including 52 articles in prestigious international journals with 19 as the main author (of which 13 are the first author and 6 are the corresponding author), and 126 articles in Vietnamese industry/specialized journals.
He has published numerous books with reputable domestic publishers, including 2 textbooks, 2 monographs, and 3 reference books.
He has also completed 14 scientific research projects at the grassroots level and above. These include one project at the ministerial/city level and one project at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Associate Professor Dr. Mai Duy Ton's main research areas include ischemic stroke; hemorrhagic stroke; stroke resuscitation; and the development of a stroke emergency care system.
Associate Professor Dr. Mai Duy Ton is known as the first person to implement thrombolytic therapy for stroke patients at Bach Mai Hospital.
In 2022, he was nominated by the World Stroke Organization as one of the outstanding individuals for his significant contributions to the field of stroke in Vietnam and worldwide.
