On December 19th, three Vietnamese airlines, Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet Air, and Bamboo Airways, will operate their first official flights landing at Long Thanh International Airport.
Following the plan implemented based on the Prime Minister 's conclusions at the December 14th meeting on the progress of the Long Thanh project, phase 1, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has issued a document requesting the three airlines to urgently complete the necessary conditions to ensure that the first flights take place safely and on schedule.

Specifically, Vietnam Airlines plans to operate a code E Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the Noi Bai - Long Thanh - Noi Bai route on the morning of December 19th. This flight will carry delegates and high-ranking leaders of the Party and State; it is not a commercial flight.
Meanwhile, Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways each plan to operate one Code C Airbus A320/321 aircraft on the Tan Son Nhat - Long Thanh - Tan Son Nhat route. These flights will only carry the flight crew and technical staff, primarily for the purpose of evaluating and refining operational procedures at the new airport.
The Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority requires airlines to thoroughly review fuel plans for round-trip flights, proactively work with aviation fuel suppliers when necessary; and at the same time, ensure their own or coordinate with relevant units in aircraft repair and maintenance.
Airlines must also fully update themselves on the published information and technical specifications of Long Thanh Airport, and prepare sufficient aircraft, flight crews, and technical personnel in accordance with operational requirements.
Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and Bamboo Airways are required to coordinate closely with Long Thanh Airport and ground service providers to agree on service plans; work with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on flight permit procedures; and coordinate with the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) to ensure aviation security in accordance with regulations.
