On May 13, 2025, Hai Phong city officially received the title of "Heroic City" on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025).
This is an important milestone, further enhancing the meaning and value of the title for every citizen of Hai Phong city.
Previously, on April 28, 2025,the President signed Decision No. 766/QD-CTN to confer the noble title of "Heroic City" on the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Phong city for their outstanding and comprehensive achievements and great contributions to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
With this decision, Hai Phong is honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with major cities in the country such as Ho Chi Minh City, awarded the title "Heroic City" in 2005 and Hanoi Capital, awarded the title "Heroic Capital" in 2000.
