300 children from the capital and abroad compete in drawing about Hanoi

Children from the capital and abroad have created many unique works about Hanoi when participating in the contest “I love Hanoi - City for Peace”. Their paintings show a peaceful, dynamic and culturally rich Hanoi.

To celebrate the 69th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2023), on the morning of October 14, at the Tay Ho District Creative Space (Trinh Cong Son walking street, Tay Ho district, Hanoi), the Hanoi City Cultural Center (Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports) coordinated with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations to organize the international painting contest "I love Hanoi - City for Peace ".

“I love Hanoi - City for peace” is a painting contest for children in the capital and international children studying and living in Hanoi.

The contest attracted the participation of 300 children who are students from primary schools, secondary schools, gifted clubs in Hanoi and children of diplomats , or studying at international schools with many different nationalities such as: India, Korea, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa, Russia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Spain, Turkey...

Contestants can draw on topics that interest them, about people and life, about peace, love of homeland, love of Hanoi, beautiful nature, protecting the surrounding environment, fighting against war, poverty, disease...

The paintings with cheerful colors and rich themes are a meaningful spiritual gift that deeply expresses the love for Hanoi - the City for Peace, the dream of a peaceful world without war or poverty.

Participating in the contest, Park Soyul (Horizon International School, Korean nationality) said: “Hanoi is where I live. Hanoi people are very friendly, and Hanoi is a very peaceful city. There are delicious foods here. I will reflect what I love about the city when participating in this contest.”

On the part of the Organizing Committee, Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations Tran Thi Phuong said: “The international painting contest “I love Hanoi - City for Peace” not only honors the beauty of the city, promotes the image of Hanoi, but also contributes to propaganda and education about love for the homeland, love for peace and humanity, the dream of a peaceful, stable and developing world without war and poverty.

Through the contest, we hope to encourage the creative artistic talents of Vietnamese and international children; promote education about love of peace for children, and at the same time create a good opportunity for Vietnamese and international children to meet, exchange and discuss with each other, strengthening friendship and solidarity between Vietnamese and international children."

As a result, Ngo Thi Ha An, Ai Mo B Primary School (Long Bien District, Hanoi) won first prize. The Organizing Committee also awarded 5 second prizes, 10 third prizes and a number of other secondary prizes.

The drawing contest “I love Hanoi - City for Peace” also contributes to enriching activities at the Tay Ho District Creative Space, helping to attract tourists.
