Speaking at the opening of the conference, Major General Tran Ngoc Thanh emphasized: The work of selecting and training SQDB plays a very important role in contributing to building a national defense, building a people's war posture, building a solid defense area, ready to meet the requirements when war breaks out. In line with that spirit, the Party and the State regularly pay attention to the work of training SQDB. The Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training has regularly paid attention to leading and directing agencies and units to carry out well the stages and steps in the selection work, so the quality of the SQDB team is increasingly improved, meeting the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

In 2024, the work of selecting male university graduates for SQDB training has achieved remarkable results. Most higher education institutions have proactively done well in steps such as: Propaganda, mobilization, health check-ups, background checks, picking up and dropping off students for admission and after the end of the course. Many schools have excellently completed their assigned tasks. These results were achieved thanks to the close attention and direction of the leaders of the board of directors, directors of universities, academies, colleges, agencies, and officers assigned to select sources for SQDB training.

According to the report, in 2024, the Government assigned 400 targets, the selection results sent to SQDB training were 372 targets (reaching 93% of the plan). 100% of male students selected for SQDB training have good moral and political qualities. The rate of good, excellent and excellent university graduates reached 89.6%. 100% of students completed the training course and were awarded the rank of SQDB.

In the selection work, many higher education institutions have excellently completed the assigned tasks and targets, typically: Hung Yen University of Technical Education (29 selected, 23 called for training); University of Industrial Technology (Thai Nguyen University), 20 selected, 20 called for training; University of Transport (32 selected, 28 called for training); Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (20 selected, 18 called for training)...

To successfully complete the task of selecting male university graduates for SQDB training in 2025, Major General Tran Ngoc Thanh requested that higher education institutions thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the decisions of the Prime Minister, the Minister of National Defense, and the Minister of Education and Training on assigning targets for selecting male university graduates for SQDB training in 2025. Do a good job of propaganda and education to raise awareness among male students about selection criteria, training time, obligations, responsibilities, and rights when being trained in SQDB.

Agencies, units and schools under the Ministry of National Defense continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training and higher education institutions to improve the quality of selection and training of SQDB for male university graduates. Timely resolve any problems and shortcomings arising in the selection process; regularly innovate the content and training programs of SQDB to meet the requirements of building a reserve force in the new situation.

Regularly take care of implementing policies for male students during the SQDB training period, organize receptions for male students who have completed the training course, pay attention to introducing job solutions, and create conditions for male students to soon have stable jobs.

Strengthen inspection, preliminary and final review, experience drawing, and proposing solutions to effectively implement the selection of male university graduates for SQDB training in the following years.
