4 Southeast Asian teams participating in the Asian Futsal Finals: Vietnam, Thailand and who?

Today (September 25), the Vietnamese team will leave China to return home and is expected to arrive in Vietnam at 6:30 p.m. the same day, concluding the journey of preparation and successful competition in the 2026 Asian futsal qualifiers. Up to this point, the continental tournament has determined 14 teams to participate in the final round.

Vietnam Futsal scored 20 goals in 3 Asian qualifying matches

At the end of the qualifying round, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team won all three matches, defeating Hong Kong (China) 9-1, China 7-2 and Lebanon 4-0. At the tournament, the Vietnamese team showed a lively attacking style, scoring a total of 20 goals and conceding only 3. With the top spot in Group E, the team has completed the goal of winning a ticket to the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship.

After this achievement, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent congratulations to the entire team and decided to reward coach Diego Giustozzi and his team with 600 million VND. This is a worthy recognition for the serious training process and dedicated performances of captain Pham Duc Hoa and his teammates.

Indonesia was given special permission to appear in the finals.

Up to this point, 14 out of 16 tickets to the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship have been determined. The group leaders who have qualified for the next round include: Australia (A), Thailand (B), Japan (C), Vietnam (E), Kyrgyzstan (F), Iran (G) and Afghanistan (H). The six best second-placed teams are Kuwait, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Lebanon and Malaysia. Indonesia received a special spot for the host team. Currently, only group G (Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Pakistan) will compete from October 18 to 22 to determine the last two spots.

During the remaining time of 2025, the Vietnamese team will aim for the 33rd SEA Games taking place in December. After that, the whole team will continue to focus on the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship, held in Indonesia from January 27 to February 7, 2026, with the participation of 16 strongest teams in the continent. The Championship will be broadcast on K+.
