Ba Vi is a district of Hanoi , located about 60 km from the city center, famous for its many scenic spots such as Tan Vien Peak, Ba Vi National Park, and the ruins of ancient villas. Besides that, Ba Vi is also renowned as a place where tourists can heal their minds and bodies through cultural experiences such as the gong music of the Muong people or the herbal baths of the Dao people.

Below is a suggested 48-hour itinerary to explore Ba Vi with a unique schedule, based on suggestions from Ms. Bui Nhan, CEO of Ecohost, and tour guides specializing in Hanoi routes.

Day 1: Travel from central Hanoi to Van Hoa commune and experience the culture of the Muong people.

Morning: Tourists will spend about 1.5 hours traveling along the Lang - Hoa Lac expressway to Van Hoa commune to visit Dien Cu Tu, where they can learn about the worship culture of the Muong people and watch a gong performance.

Mentioning the culture of the Muong people immediately brings to mind their gong culture. Due to the difficult mountainous terrain, the Muong people have used sound as a means of communication since ancient times, according to the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports. Whenever the gongs sound, people rely on the nuances of the sound to know about village affairs and gather together.

In addition, visitors can experience the local cuisine, learn about hunting and gathering tools, farming practices, and traditional wedding customs of the Muong people, as introduced by the locals.

Lunch: Visitors will stop at Long Viet Tourist Area to learn about the worship culture of the people of Northern Vietnam and the Red River civilization through ancient Vietnamese architectural works. Here, visitors will have lunch and take souvenir photos.
