Five expressway projects – Chau Doc - Soc Trang - Can Tho, Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3, and the Capital Region's Ring Road 4 – are about to commence construction.
The Ministry of Transport announced that it is directing investors and project management boards to complete procedures to start construction on 10 projects and complete 9 projects in the second quarter of this year, including 5 key projects: Chau Doc - Soc Trang - Can Tho, Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, and Hanoi Capital Region Ring Road 4.

The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway is over 188 km long, starting at the intersection with the National Highway 91 bypass in Chau Doc City, An Giang Province, and ending at the connection with the Southern Hau River National Highway in Tran De District, Soc Trang Province. The project has a total cost of nearly 44,700 billion VND, funded by the state budget, and divided into four component projects. Phase one of the expressway is 17 meters wide, with 4 lanes and a maximum speed of 80 km/h.

The first phase of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway is over 117 km long, with four lanes, a width of 17 m, and designated emergency points. The project has a total investment of nearly 22,000 billion VND from the state budget.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway (phase one) is 53.7 km long, with 4-6 lanes, and a total investment of over 17,830 billion VND. The project is divided into three component projects. Of these, component projects one and two, totaling 34.2 km, pass through Dong Nai province, with a cost of over 12,640 billion VND. The remaining section is being implemented in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with a total investment of 5,190 billion VND.
The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 is 76 km long, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An provinces. It is divided into 8 component projects, with public investment. The total investment capital for the project is 75,300 billion VND, of which 61,000 billion VND comes from the state budget for the 2021-2025 period and 14,300 billion VND for the 2026-2030 period.

The Capital Region's Ring Road 4, spanning 112 km, passes through Hanoi, Hung Yen, and Bac Ninh provinces. It is divided into seven component projects: three land acquisition projects funded by public investment, three parallel road (urban road) construction projects funded by public investment, and one expressway construction project funded by PPP (public-private partnership). The preliminary total investment for the project is 85,800 billion VND.
Earlier in the first quarter, five projects were commenced as planned, including: the renovation and upgrading of the Hanoi-Vinh and Vinh-Nha Trang railway sections; the upgrading of the Cai Mep-Thi Vai waterway; the upgrading of the maritime channel leading to the ports in the South Nghi Son area, Thanh Hoa; and the upgrading of National Highway 14E section through Quang Nam province.
