60 artists participate in the "National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition 2023"

On the evening of September 23, at Cao Van Lau Theater ( Bac Lieu ), the opening ceremony of the 2023 National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition took place. The competition was organized by the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in coordination with the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Huong Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest - emphasized that this is one of the practical activities contributing to preserving and promoting the identity and value of Vietnamese cultural heritages, contributing to the common and sustainable development of the country.

At the same time, it is also an opportunity to discover and honor talents and individuals with achievements in the process of working and creating cai luong art; at the same time, for cai luong art units to search for, attract and nurture the next generation of artists and actors; an opportunity for artists and actors to exchange, learn experiences, cultivate knowledge, improve professional qualifications and the quality of cai luong art performances.

"The contest also helps state management agencies from central to local levels to correctly assess the current status of cai luong art activities. The contest promotes cai luong art to develop in accordance with the reality of social life, meeting the people's need to enjoy art in the current period," said Mr. Duong.

The 2023 National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition has the participation of 60 artists from 24 professional art units across the country. Among them, many faces belong to famous units in the South such as: Tay Do Theater (Can Tho), Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theater (HCMC), Huong Tram Cai Luong Troupe (Ca Mau)... and a large force from units in the North such as Vietnam Cai Luong Theater, Hanoi Cai Luong Theater, Thanh Hoa Traditional Art Theater, Hai Phong Cai Luong Troupe...

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the actors from Cao Van Lau Theater will compete. The 2023 National Cai Luong Actor Talent Competition will take place from September 23 to 30.
