Adam Smith's The Wealth of Nations was first published in 1776. According to Nha Nam, in Vietnam there was a translation of this work under the name The Wealth of Nations in 1997 but this is an incomplete version.
With the desire to bring readers a complete work, Nha Nam has chosen to translate and refer to the famous 1904 academic edition edited and carefully annotated by Edwin Cannan based on the fifth edition in 1789, which was last revised by Adam Smith himself before his death (1790).
The newly released book quickly received enthusiastic reception from readers.
It can be said that, if not counting literary and religious books, The Wealth of Nations by the "father of modern economics " Adam Smith is one of the most famous works in the world ever.
It laid the foundations for modern economics, inspired leaders, shaped national policies, and shaped global economic discourse. Discussions about it continue more than two centuries later, and it is cited more often than Karl Marx's Das Kapital.
The Wealth of Nations is a great work not only because of its brilliant economic ideas but also because of its spirit of building a prosperous and good society for all.
The book is especially suitable for those interested in economics, students of specialized schools, and policymakers.
