Egypt opens logistics center to receive aid to Gaza Strip

According to Ahram Online, Egypt's North Sinai Governor Mohamed Abdel-Fadil Shousha said that the Egyptian government is building a logistics center in the Rafah border crossing area to receive humanitarian aid sent to the people of the Gaza Strip.

According to Mr. Shousha, this logistics center will be used to store and preserve humanitarian aid before it is transported into the Gaza Strip. The center will include truck waiting areas, storage warehouses, administrative offices and accommodation for drivers.

Humanitarian aid is delivered to Al-Arish by air, land and sea. The new center will ease the burden on drivers, reduce traffic congestion in Al-Arish city and on the roads, and facilitate the Egyptian Red Crescent in delivering humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza.

Regarding the prospects for peace talks in the Gaza Strip, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that the ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip in recent days “are not very promising”. Over the past week, Qatar, Egypt, Israel and the US have held high-level talks in Cairo on a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel but have so far failed to reach a conclusion.
