Heartwarming moments for students in border regions.

At the 2025 high school graduation exam, the border district of Ea Súp had many candidates from ethnic minority communities living in remote areas, dozens of kilometers from the exam centers. However, the love from their families and the support from the community became a warm source of strength, empowering them to confidently overcome this challenge.

Living nearly 50 km from the exam center at Ea Súp High School, Mrs. Pham Thi Huyen (village 1, Ia Rve commune, Ea Súp district) felt a huge weight lifted off her shoulders when she learned that her daughter would receive support with food and accommodation near the exam center thanks to the "Exam Support Program".

Mrs. Huyen's family is poor, living primarily on farming, renting land to grow cassava year-round, but they have suffered continuous losses in recent years. Amidst these hardships, her eldest daughter harbors the dream of wearing a white lab coat, aspiring to be admitted to the Military Medical Academy. "If she wants it, we'll try our best, just hoping she passes the entrance exam, studies properly, and has a less difficult life than her parents," Mrs. Huyen confided.

According to Mr. Vo Trong Loi, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ea Sup High School, this year's "Exam Support" team in Ea Sup district consists of more than 100 volunteers. The teams received training, were assigned tasks, and participated in supporting candidates and their parents. Before the exam, the volunteers cleaned rooms, entrances to exam sites, and candidate accommodations. To date, the program has provided accommodation for 25 candidates in need and some accompanying parents. They have also secured donations of 440 free meals, thousands of bottles of water, and school supplies for the candidates.

Along with the "Exam Support Team," many organizations and philanthropists in Ea Súp district also provide support to candidates each exam season. For example, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngan (Ea Súp town) has, for the past three years, regularly spent money and effort cooking and distributing hundreds of free meals to candidates participating in the High School Graduation Exam. She said that this year, students only have 1.5 days to take the exam, so she prepared about 150-170 meals (with a diverse menu including grilled ribs, stir-fried minced meat, stir-fried bamboo shoots, water spinach soup, and peach tea with jelly) to support students from distant areas and those with difficult circumstances as a form of encouragement to help them perform well in the exam.

Leaving the examination room, the candidates in Ea Súp district were deeply moved by the warm meals and refreshing bottles of water provided by local people, philanthropists, and volunteer youth. Nguyen Hoai Thu (a 12th-grade student at Ea Rok High School, Ea Rok commune) expressed that this support was invaluable, helping her and other candidates from distant schools to feel relaxed and confident, enabling them to participate effectively in the exam.

Besides the sharing and support from the community, the encouragement of family members is a crucial source of moral support for the candidates. At all the examination centers, numerous parents sat and waited for hours for their children.

Anxiously waiting for her child at the Ea Súp High School exam center, Ms. Ngan Thi Minh (village 21, Ea Rok commune) shared: “I drove my child to the exam early this morning so she could have time to eat breakfast and calm down before the exam. This is an important exam, so despite my busy work schedule, I chose to stay and wait for her, encouraging her after each exam session.” Similarly, Ms. Pham Thi Huyen, despite living far away and her daughter receiving accommodation support during the exam days, still chose to accompany her throughout the exam season, giving her daughter more confidence on this important journey.

At all the examination centers, large numbers of parents sat waiting for their children to finish the exam.

In this rural area still facing many difficulties, mothers like Ms. Minh and Ms. Huyen, along with the invaluable support from the community, have given strength to the students in this border region to enter the exam with a calm, confident mindset and complete faith in the future.
