The Ho Guom Theater at 40-40A Hang Bai ( Hanoi ) is the first theater in Vietnam to be equipped with high-quality, international standard theater equipment for both natural and amplified acoustics. The project was inaugurated on July 9.
Hoan Kiem Theater one day before the inauguration ceremony. The project is located at 40-40A Hang Bai (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) on a land area of over 5,000m2.
The theater stands out with 52 stone columns (each 18m high) brought from Spain, creating a beauty imbued with ancient European character.
The idea of building the theater is the resonance and intersection of classical, modern, and historical elements reminiscent of the first theaters of mankind. In addition, there is a combination of details bearing the mark of Vietnamese culture such as Dong Son bronze drum motifs, crane patterns, traditional musical instruments, or images of golden turtles handing over swords...
The modernity of the building is expressed through the image of the glass system and the dome details that envelop the building. The lobby roof uses relief details, telling the history of the nation.
The theater is divided into 6 areas: Large lobby and small lobby in front for welcoming guests; Vertical traffic core: facilitates easy movement; Large auditorium with a capacity of 900 guests and small auditorium with a capacity of 500 guests; Backstage area: actors' lobby, side stage, practice room, props warehouse, office area; Basement for parking for guests and staff; Multi-purpose space, break room, cafeteria and garden on the 6th floor.
The overall structure has a neoclassical architectural style with the functional blocks of a theater clearly expressed. Rows of columns are used to create solemnity. The lobby roof creates inverted arches to reduce the angularity of the structure, using square glass blocks to increase the modern look.
The main hall of the Hoan Kiem Theater is inspired by the starry night sky. The large auditorium space is decorated with stylized rice flower images in the familiar logo of the People's Public Security force.
At the stage entrance on both wings and outside the gate there are wheelchair lanes reserved for the disabled.
The steps around the lobby are decorated with LED strips, giving the audience a luxurious, modern feeling from the moment they step in.
Ho Guom Theater is also invested with a modern infrastructure system, state-of-the-art technical infrastructure, applying the world's leading technology in sound, lighting, stage decoration... capable of meeting the performance requirements of many different art forms, from the most demanding such as Opera to symphony, musical, ballet, music and dance performances, seminars, TV shows...
Exclusive VIP reception area before or after the show with unique food and drinks specially prepared and prepared according to the theme of each show.
With 2 auditoriums (capacity of 500 and 900 seats), this will be the most modern stage in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, meeting all performance requirements, diverse art forms...
The small auditorium is designed like a blooming flower with lines of sound waves spreading in space. The central stage system and the lift-up seats help transform into many different types of stages with a capacity for 90 musicians, in which the floor system can slide down to create a music pit, helping the audience to fully focus on the stage without affecting the view (circular stage, T-shaped stage with 3 rows of surrounding seats, large I-shaped stage, small I-shaped stage, event space). The modern ceiling system can be flexibly moved according to the nature of each performance.
The lighting of Ho Guom Theater has a natural style, meeting the diverse needs of different art forms with distinct performance spaces such as: lighting to shine on the stage, lighting to monitor the actors, lighting to create artistic scenes.
Ho Guom Theater is also invested in facilities to organize conferences and seminars specializing in the field of art and other fields such as: Seminars and professional seminars in the fields of culture, art, politics , economics; press conferences to introduce art performances; exchanges between artists and the public; conferences of organizations, individuals, businesses, etc.
The performance sound system includes the Array speaker system and the Constellation speaker system. The highlight of the Constellation speaker system is an array of sensor microphones around the auditorium and stage shell area, sophisticated digital signal processing and world-class speaker systems. Constellation adjusts the reverberation characteristics, reverberation time at a location and redistributes sound throughout the auditorium space, creating a natural sound experience at every seat.
Constellation Sound is the most advanced sound system in the world. Only a handful of theaters in the world are equipped with this system. The constellation electroacoustic sound system uses adaptive sound technology for each venue, the speakers can instantly change sound and intensity to respond to any type of performance.
