Training 8-9 hours a day caused Anh Vien to develop muscles, and her skin also became darker due to sun exposure and chemical treatments. She used to be very confident about her appearance.
Ánh Viên recounted the long days spent away from home, the arduous training. She cried a lot when her life revolved solely around training, and she couldn't go home to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) with her parents.
Ánh Viên is happy to have brought so much glory to her country. She is the athlete with the most SEA Games gold medals in the history of Vietnamese sports (25 gold medals). But then Anh Vien decided to retire from the national team to pursue a different dream and be herself...
