Autodesk and Urban Railway Management Board cooperate to promote digital transformation in Vietnam
This cooperation also continues to demonstrate Autodesk's commitment to accompany the Vietnamese Government on the journey of digital transformation and BIM application in many fields, starting with construction, continuing with transportation and opening up the possibility of cooperation in many other fields in the future.
Sharing at the signing ceremony, Ms. Smitha Raghunathan - Acting Director of Autodesk ASEAN Region affirmed: "This agreement is a strategic step, laying the foundation for BIM application in the transportation industry in particular and promoting multi-sector BIM application in the Vietnamese market in general, after Autodesk had previously signed important cooperation agreements with the Institute of Construction Economics - Ministry of Construction in 2017 and 2023".
According to the Urban Railway Management Board, in order to be able to apply BIM to projects, the Urban Railway Management Board still has to face many challenges, including legal difficulties, human resource capacity, hardware and software equipment to apply tools - application software used for BIM. Faced with these difficulties and challenges, having the support of consulting units and professional BIM software providers such as Autodesk will be valuable support for the Urban Railway Management Board to approach in a more correct, faster and more convenient way in applying BIM in managing urban railway construction investment projects in Ho Chi Minh City.
Through this partnership, Autodesk and the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board will strengthen their strategic collaboration to support digital transformation solutions across the ecosystem. "We will jointly develop a digital transformation framework to ensure successful digital transformation. Our collaboration will include exploring overseas training programs, developing standardized materials for BIM projects, creating certification programs, improving and digitizing Metro project processes, and introducing BIM technology in the railway industry for Hanoi Metropolitan Railway projects. We are excited to partner with the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board to move towards a digitally transformed future," said Ken Soh, Senior External Affairs Manager at Autodesk.
Regarding the digital transformation roadmap, the two sides will organize a workshop to assess current capacity, determine strategic goals, and then propose an effective transformation roadmap with detailed steps on human resource development, processes and applicable technology standards, develop sample documents for BIM project implementation and related documents.
