The Minister of Construction has just signed Decision No. 2166/QD-BXD approving the investment project to build and expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway under the PPP method.
Accordingly, the designated investor to implement the above project is the Consortium of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, Ho Chi Minh City Technical Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, Tasco Joint Stock Company, Hoang Long Construction Investment Corporation - JSC, CII Investment and Service Company Limited.
The project is about 96.13km long, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh province and Dong Thap province, starting point (Km9+325) at Cho Dem intersection (Tan Nhut commune, Ho Chi Minh City); ending point at Km105+454 at the northern end of My Thuan 2 bridge (An Huu commune, Dong Thap province).
The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong section has a planned completion phase of 10 - 12 lanes (Cho Dem - Ring Road 4 section has a 12-lane scale; Ring Road 4 - Trung Luong section has a 10-lane scale), with investment in phases of 8 lanes, with a design speed of 120km/h. The Trung Luong - My Thuan section and the section from An Thai Trung intersection to the northern end of My Thuan 2 bridge will have a completed investment of 6 lanes according to the approved plan, with a design speed of 100km/h.
The project also invests in a synchronous smart traffic management system: building new, utilizing and upgrading traffic management systems, non-stop electronic toll collection systems, vehicle load control works, ensuring traffic control and management in accordance with the scale of investment in the route; meeting the requirements of highway operation and exploitation; ensuring synchronous and unified connection with neighboring routes.
The project's rest stops are located at Km28+200 (Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong section) and at Km78+220 (Trung Luong - My Thuan section). Within the project, there are 10 interchanges, of which 8 existing interchanges will be renovated and upgraded to match the scale of the highway expansion; 2 interchanges will be added.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway expansion project is being implemented as an urgent strategic solution to complete key infrastructure routes and completely resolve the serious overload situation, creating leverage for the development of the entire Mekong Delta region.
