
Speaking at the Conference, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Hai Anh said that for more than 7 months, the Vietnam Red Cross Society has lacked a Chairman. The completion of key leadership personnel is not only an urgent requirement in terms of organization and personnel work, but also an objective practical requirement to ensure the smooth, effective and stable leadership and direction of the Society system in the current period, promoting and better performing the noble humanitarian mission that the Society is honored to be assigned by the Party, State and people. That task requires a strong, united, unified leadership team with strategic vision, political courage and a compassionate heart.
100% of the Executive Committee members present at the Central Executive Committee Conference unanimously elected Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for the 2025-2030 term, as a member of the Executive Committee, member of the Standing Committee, and President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
In her acceptance speech, Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao expressed her honor, gratitude and deep awareness of the great responsibility entrusted to her, not only to the organization and previous generations of cadres but also to millions of kind hearts across the country, especially in the context of a developing country that often faces natural disasters and catastrophes, love and community responsibility become even more precious.
The new President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society affirmed that he will work with the Executive Committee to successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th Congress, aiming to build a professional, autonomous, and sustainably developing Vietnam Red Cross Society by 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society pledged to promote humanitarian movements, improve governance capacity, ensure transparency, expand international cooperation and proactively participate in global humanitarian relief, in the spirit of "Vietnam is not only a recipient, but also a giver of love".
Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, born on November 18, 1975, is a PhD in Political Economy , Master of Public Administration in Sociology; Political theory: Senior; State management level: Senior expert.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 16, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations held a conference to announce the decision on personnel work of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for the 2025-2030 term; the decision to remove Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, from the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and from the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union for the 2025-2030 term; to transfer and appoint her to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for the 2025-2030 term.
