Ms. Pham Thu Hang as spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On the morning of June 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a ceremony to announce and hand over the decision to Ms. Pham Thu Hang, Deputy Director of the Department of Press and Information, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to hold the position of Acting Director of the Department of Press and Information, and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ms. Pham Thu Hang assumed the position of Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, replacing Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, after Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Acting Director Pham Thu Hang has many years of experience working at the Press and Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holding many positions, and is very experienced in working with domestic and international press. From 2017 to 2020, Ms. Pham Thu Hang was Political Counselor at the Embassy of Vietnam in the United States.

Before Ms. Pham Thu Hang, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had four female spokespeople: Ms. Ho The Lan, Ms. Phan Thuy Thanh, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga (currently President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations), and Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang.
